Minors under 15 years old from Villa Fiorito, in the district of Lomas de Zamora, were detected following the commission of various robberies. An alert was received about two criminals who had just stolen a Honda CB125F motorcycle in the area. Personnel from the Motorized Division of Neighborhood Police Stations 14A and 14B began a search and managed to locate the suspects on Cabildo street at 200.
A follow-up was established, which ended with the arrest of the minors on Scalabrini Ortiz Avenue at 700. During the capture, it was verified that the motorcycle had bridged ignition wires and that a pair of wire cutters along with a knife was found in the backpack of the detainees. It has been confirmed that the detainees, all minors, had prior records for thefts. One of them, aged 14, had eight records of entries to police stations in the city since 2023.
After these events involving minors in robberies, the Minister of Security of the City, Waldo Wolff, expressed his concern: “Every day we see kids of an increasingly younger age committing crimes under the protection of their families,” he stated. Wolff proposed strengthening the reduction of the age of criminal responsibility and the withdrawal of parental authority, adding that the only way to ensure them a better future is to separate them from the environments that prompt them to commit crimes from an early age.
A gang of minors dedicated to motorcycle theft in Villa Fiorito, Buenos Aires province, was dismantled with the arrest of four teenagers in the City of Buenos Aires, following a series of criminal acts in the Palermo area. The City Police arrested the minors with two stolen motorcycles, which were part of the Villa Fiorito gang, which already had a record for similar crimes.
The first robbery took place on Santa Fe and Godoy Cruz Avenue, in the Palermo district, when two individuals were spotted riding at high speed and without helmets on a black Yamaha FZ motorcycle. Personnel from Neighborhood Police Station 14C detected the situation and a chase commenced, culminating in the capture of the suspects on Corrientes Avenue and Luis María Drago.
